About Steve Cox

Past Events

JULY 1, 2018 Congratulations to the Museum of Flight, all of the veterans, volunteers, and
the greater community who helped with the success of Project Welcome Home. Project Welcome Home will provide the public with an outdoor Vietnam veterans' memorial park featuring the museum’s restored B-52 Stratofortress "Midnight Express," a statue of an aviator and exhibit pieces to tell the history of the B-52 and its involvement in the war. The memorial park will be free of charge for all who wish to honor, contemplate and remember, and your support makes this possible. As part of helping to fund Project Welcome Home, Steve Cox worked with museum leadership to conceptualize, paint, and donate his latest work "Midnight Express." The painting depicts Midnight Express during ground operations while in the background a stratofortress flies above as it lifts off for another mission. The painting was part of the fundraising auction held on June 23, 2018 where the winning bid was $10,000.00.
