Before the availability of large fast helicopters, aircraft like this ex military Beech C-45H Expediter air ambulance were used to reach remote, and sometimes rugged areas. Mercy Flights Inc. based in Medford Oregon, flew over 1,100 missions with "Iron Annie" before its retirement and eventual donation to the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA. It now hangs in the Great Gallery, unrestored and looking fresh from the flight line.
